About Plentifully

Plentifully is a cash-free marketplace that helps Twin Cities neighbors share produce, seeds, tools, space, and know-how locally. We are building first with urban growers, community gardens, and neighbors in Minneapolis and St. Paul.

Our mission

Build neighbor-to-neighbor food sharing that turns local abundance into everyday support.

What is Plentifully?

Plentifully is a people-powered network and cash-free marketplace for urban growers, community gardens, and neighbors who want to share what they have. That can be surplus produce, seeds, garden tools, space, or know-how.

We help communities organize swaps online and in person so that extra harvests, empty garden beds, and underused tools become shared resources instead of waste.

We are starting in the Twin Cities, building first with Minneapolis and St. Paul neighbors, growers, and local partners to make sharing easier, safer, and more useful close to home.

How Plentifully Works

Plentifully makes it simple to list what you grow, find what you need, and swap or donate with neighbors using safe local hubs.

1. Join your local hub

Sign up and choose the Twin Cities neighborhood or hub that is closest to you.

“You choose the Twin Cities hub that is nearest to your home.”

2. List what you have or request what you need

Post your surplus harvest, tools, seeds, or create a simple request for what you are looking for.

“You post 10 extra zucchini and mention that you are hoping to swap for herbs or compost.”

3. Match and chat with neighbors

Our matching tools and local hub structure help connect you with nearby neighbors who have what you need or need what you have.

“A neighbor offers their extra basil and a wheelbarrow loan in exchange for your zucchini.”

4. Swap at a public pickup hub

Meet at a designated public pickup hub in your neighborhood to make the exchange in a safe, visible location.

“You both meet at the local public pickup hub on Saturday morning to complete the swap.”

Got extra to give, not to swap?

Mark your listing as a donation and we will help connect it with neighbors and Twin Cities food banks or community pantries near you. No 1-to-1 trade required. You choose what you are able to give and when you can drop it off, and we help route it where it is needed most.

Who Plentifully is for

Plentifully is for anyone who wants to share, swap, or donate food and garden resources locally.

  • Backyard and balcony growers with more than they can use

  • Community garden members and coordinators

  • Mutual aid organizers and local food advocates

  • Neighbors who want to help, even if they do not grow food themselves

  • Local groups and institutions that care about food access and reducing waste

Our Values

Community first

We start with people, not products. Strong local relationships are more important than any single swap.

Reciprocity

Everyone has something to offer. We design Plentifully so giving, receiving, and swapping all feel fair and respectful.

Safety and care

We prioritize clear communication, safe public pickup hubs, and tools that help neighbors build trust over time.

Inclusion

Whether you have a large garden, a small balcony, or no growing space at all, there is a place for you in this network.

Transparency

We communicate how the platform works, how decisions are made, and how communities can shape what comes next.

Stewardship

We believe in taking care of land, food, and each other. Reducing waste, sharing abundance, and supporting local resilience are at the heart of Plentifully.
