Plentifully

Swap and donate homegrown food and garden resources in the Twin Cities

Plentifully is a cash-free community app where growers, gardeners, and neighbors share extra produce, seeds, tools, supplies, and know-how locally.

Turn extra zucchini, herbs, seedlings, and garden supplies into something useful for neighbors, mutual aid groups, pantries, and local partners.

Early Access is open in the Twin Cities region, with early activity focused around Minneapolis and St. Paul.

Join early access to create a profile, post or browse local listings as they grow, and help shape the first Twin Cities sharing hubs.

Free to join. No buying, selling, or credit card required.

What you can share

• Extra produce from home gardens or community plots
• Herbs, seedlings, starts, and saved seeds
• Garden tools, supplies, soil, compost, and containers
• Skills like pruning help, seed starting, composting, or event support
• Donation listings for neighbors, mutual aid groups, pantries, and local partners

You do not need to grow food to join. Plentifully is for backyard growers, balcony gardeners, community garden members, neighbors with extra supplies, volunteers, organizers, food access supporters, and local partners.

Have extra food or supplies to give? Mark a listing as a donation so neighbors, mutual aid groups, pantries, or local partners can request it when available. No swap is required.

Gardening is better when we do it together

If you grow food, garden with neighbors, have extra supplies, or support local food access, you have probably seen this:

  • You harvest more zucchini or tomatoes than you can eat in a week.
  • You need a specific tool, like a wheelbarrow or broadfork, for only a day or two.
  • You want to try new heirloom varieties without buying full seed packets.
  • You wish it were easier to donate extra produce to neighbors, mutual aid groups, pantries, or local partners.

Plentifully helps you turn that extra abundance into swaps and donations that stay in your neighborhood.

How to Start Swapping or Donating

1. Join Early Access

Create an account, choose your nearby area, and start seeing local activity as listings grow.

Example: Share your general area so Plentifully can connect you with nearby listings, future hubs, and community activity as they grow.

2. List what you have or request what you need

Post your surplus harvest, tools, seeds, supplies, or create a simple request for what you are looking for.

Example: Post 10 extra zucchini and mention that you are open to swapping for herbs, compost, saved seeds, or a tool loan.

3. Connect with nearby neighbors

Plentifully is starting with early Twin Cities members and future local hubs, so your listings and requests help shape where activity grows first.

Example: A neighbor offers extra basil and a wheelbarrow loan in exchange for your zucchini.

4. Coordinate a safe local pickup

Coordinate a pickup at a visible public place, community garden, partner location, local event, or future pickup hub that works for both people.

Example: Meet at a visible public place, community garden, partner location, or future pickup hub to complete the swap or donation.

Got extra to give, not to swap?

Mark your listing as a donation when you have extra produce, seeds, tools, or supplies to give. No one-to-one trade is required. Where possible, Plentifully helps connect donations with nearby neighbors, mutual aid groups, community pantries, or local partner organizations.

Why Plentifully?

Cash-free by design

No buying, selling, listing fees, or credit cards. Plentifully is not a resale marketplace. It is built for swaps, donations, and neighbor-to-neighbor sharing.

Less waste, more local food

Keep surplus produce, seeds, and garden resources in your neighborhood instead of letting them go unused.

Built for local trust

Profiles, community guidelines, safe pickup practices, reporting, and feedback tools help make sharing feel more comfortable.

Useful beyond produce

Share seeds, seedlings, tools, supplies, skills, and local know-how, not just extra fruits and vegetables.

Safety-first sharing

Members are encouraged to share clear item details, follow common food safety practices, and meet in visible public places, community gardens, partner locations, or public pickup hubs as they become available.

User profiles and neighborhood context

See who you are swapping or donating with, their general neighborhood area, and basic profile details that help build local context.

Trust tools as we grow

Profiles, feedback, reporting, partner indicators, and clear pickup expectations help members share with more confidence.
